To support its continued exciting growth, Avo is seeking a number of individuals that can fill the role of Optical Program Managers.  These are senior engineering/upper management positions that initially report directly to the CTO and will eventually comprise the new Programs Office division.

Responsibilities
• Manage multiple photonic-based programs, provide system engineering direction to internal Team, and present technical, schedule, and cost data to customer.
• Perform engineering analysis of product requirements and assist in deriving optical, mechanical, and electrical solutions.
• Create optical / laser physics models of component designs and derive tolerances OR create solid mechanical models of components and systems
• Provide hands-on skills to help produce prototypes
• Assist in component sourcing and vendor management
• Prepare and present technical status reviews


Requirements
• B.S. in Optical or Mechanical Engineering or Physics
• Program/Project Management or System Engineering experience desired
• Experience with Zemax, ASAP, GLAD or  SolidWorks desired
• Understanding of optical component assembly / packaging processes
• Experience with scientific/engineering software analysis tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• US Citizen
