Avo Photonics is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops, and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff can produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including aerospace, military, medical, industrial, and communications.
We seek a diligent, dedicated, and meticulous person who will help to further our success by providing incoming inspection support for high-reliability components. A successful candidate must utilize a plethora of precision tools and opto-mechanical equipment to inspect materials to the exact specifications called out in the design. The ideal candidate will build strong working relationships with the engineers whose work they will be inspecting to help them consistently meet the production specifications on schedule and within budget. Proactivity, high attention to detail, and the ability to cooperate professionally within different levels of the organization are essential traits for success.
Responsibilities:
Inspecting incoming components to the mechanical, optical, and electronic specifications outlined by the engineering drawing.
Ensuring material compliance (Reach, RoHS, Conflict Minerals), and material traceability.
Operating within the confines of high-reliability manufacturing/cleanliness standards (ISO Class 100 Environment, IEST CC1246E Cleanliness, AS9100 & AS9003B Quality).
Developing processes and/or recommending equipment purchases when new inspection requirements are introduced.
Providing design feedback to engineers when parts are found to be non-conforming.
Requirements:
B.S. in Engineering.
At least 5 years of experience with electronic and/or optical technologies, measurement systems, and inspection tools.
At least 5 years of experience interpreting mechanical drawings and tolerances.
ASQ Quality Engineer Certification is preferred.
